Book Club

Ok, it's me again:) So, Britt and I were talking awhile ago, and we thought it may be fun to have a little book club with the girls in our family (boys are welcome to join too, but be warned we may read girly books!). Anyway, we thought we could use the blog to do our discussions, and that way, we can all do it on our own time. Anyway, I think its worth a try. I know Lauren and Shell may not have as much reading time as the rest of us, but we can make it pretty relaxed. We'll do one book a month and if someone is to busy that month, they can just skip it, or if we all are we can decide to postpone a month. Anyway, I think it could be a lot of fun!! So, I thought we'd start it out with the Twilight series, since we've all read them. I know we've talked about them a lot, so if you think of any new and exciting questions, please please post them. I've been trying to think of some, but since I've never been in a book group, they may not turn out that great. So anyways, here are a few, and then you can just post your own reply to them, or comment on others. Also, we'll need some ideas for books if you guys want to try and do the book club, so let me know!! Love you all:)

1.Probably the most important.....Jacob vs. Edward?? What do you think about them, which should Bella choose, why???

2. Who is your favorite character from the book and why??

3. How do you feel about Bella?? Do you like her?? Do you think she's mature enough for these decisions?? (I know some of you feel strongly about this one, mom ;)

4. Do you think Bella should try and tell her parents about becoming a vampire?? Why or why not?

5. Any guesses on what will happen in the next book?? Will they get married, will Jacob remain a wolf?? Will Bella finally become a vampire??

6. Do you think Bella should become a vampire now, or should she wait and go to school etc, like Edward wants her to??

7. Do you think Bella's clumsiness will go away when she becomes a vampire??

Ok, so I know some of these are similar, so you don't have to answer all of them, and again, please add more questions if you can think of them, I accidentally returned the book I had my questions in back to the library, soooo I know there are better questions out there!! Love you guys!!

Ok here are my thoughts about the questions! I am torn still between Edward and Jacob a little, but I still think Edward. In the first book he is so fun and I really like him, but he does get kind of annoying when he is so cautious and serious about everything with Bella. I also think that is why some people don't like Bella. She does get onry when Edward is like that, but she is much more fun when Edward is light hearted. So if that makes sense, I still choose Edward because I think he will be less stressed in the next book. And yes I still like Bella.

I don't think she should turn into a vampire yet, I still think she is too young to really know what she wants and there are too many things to experience and so I totally agree with Edward on that point.

About the whole getting married thing, yes I do think that they will get married. I think that will be a huge fight with her parents and maybe Bella will feel either forced or obligated to tell them about the vampire issue she is dealing with. I don't think that she will just tell them on her own though because I think she kind of feels wierd about it and I don't think they will believe her. I really think she will go through with it even if it's in years to come.

I hope that Jacob doesn't stay a wolf so that they can still be friends and not have it be so hard. I really love Jacob and I want him to find another girl in this book so that I am not so sad for him!!

Who is my favorite character? Wow! I can't even decide. As many of you know I don't love Bella. So she's not it. But through our dicsussions I've come to see her in a better light. I love Edward. I guess because he is so romantic! But Jacob is so cute, but very immature. He is a really great high school boyfriend and will probably turn out to be a great grown up boyfriend as well. He's just not there yet! I really like Alice as well. She is so much fun but yet very mature. She adds a lot to the book. So, I guess I would have to say......EDWARD!!

Sorry, I have to keep going back and reading the questions. I think Bella should choose Edward mostly because of the imprinting thing. And I do think she should wait to become a vampire although that could cause lots of porblems because of the Voltari and her safety in general. So maybe she should just go ahead and do it now. I think she will end up telling her parents about the vampire thing. It's the only way for them to be happy about the whole thing. Otherwise they just think she ran off or doesn't want them in her life anymore. I think that the next book will be the story of Bella becoming a vampire. I bet it takes almost the whole book for it to happen. That's not really the way I would like it to be. You know how we want to know "the rest of the story"? Because I think it's obvious that she will become a vampire ( at least if Stephenie Meyer wants a happy ending) but I would like to have her tell about her life after becoming one. But that may not make for enough of an exciting story. If she is really creative (which she seems to be) she will have Bella get married to Edward at the beginning, become a vampire and then some advanture that would hold the reader's attention. But then the mystery of the romance is over, which is really what keeps us going! Either way, I hope it has a happy ending. You know with Harry Potter the ending was happy, but it still felt like wait a monute I want to know more. I don't think I would ever be satisfied no matter how it had ended because I just want it to keep going. I'll probably feel that way about this one, too! I do think it will be fun to read from Edward's point of view and maybe even Jacob's! I can't wait to read what all of you have to say. Love ya, MOM
